Owner & Director of Veronica K Ballet
Veronica Kotulak is the owner and founder of Veronica K Ballet. Veronica's method takes an innovative approach to studying ballet the safer and stronger way. Training with Veronica K, you have the unique opportunity to learn from a former professional dancer who has extensive knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and ballet methodology. After being injured countless times, she has designed a method for ballet training that integrates her knowledge from her education as a Certified Personal Trainer, Bachelor's of Art in Dance, and A.A.S. in Physical Therapy.
With this unique approach, Veronica K will help you not only understand and educate you about your body but, progress you to unimagineable levels! You will learn things from Veronica K they DON'T tell you in ballet class. Veronica believes it does not matter what age you start your dance journey but, it is the body mechanics that matter the most!
Veronica challenges some of the 'old school' of approaches to dance and believes ballet should NOT be painful. When dancing with Veronica K, you will dance with extreme strength & beauty without putting yourself at risk for chronic injuries or pain.
Veronica K began her dance career at the age of 7. She has studied ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, tap and musical theater. Originally, Veronica began her training in the Cecchetti method of ballet and completed grade 1 through 3 exams. She later switched to studying classical American Ballet & Balanchine methods. Veronica received the majority of her dance training from instructors with noteworhty backgrounds including: Tamala Taylor (Former Dance Masters Ohio President), Kara Stewart (Former Ohio Ballet Company) , Cydney Spohn (Former soloist with The Pennsylvania Ballet), Pauline Howe (Former St. Paul City Ballet), and Tom Smith (Former Martha Graham Dance Company).
After graduating from the University of Akron with her Honorary degree in dance, Veronica danced professionally with Carnival Cruise Lines as Playlist Dancer.
Additional performance credits include: E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron, Cassidy Theater, Academy of Dance (Tamala Taylor), Ballet Wooster, and Red Satin Jazz Cabaret.
Veronica has also competed with Ohio Dance Masters, Nexstar Talent, and Applause Talent competitions. Veronica even competed as a contestant in Ohio Dance Masters Miss Dance of Ohio Competition and was a scholarship winner at Dancing Wheels Company summer intensive.
Veronica has also helped trained numerous dancers to prepare for professional auditions, college dance programs, has choreographed for local musical theater productions, Ballet Wooster story ballets, and Ohio dance competitions. She currently owns and operates Veronica K Ballet and teaches as a ballet instructor at Creative Motion Studios.
Veronica's life-long dream was always to influence, educate, and teach dancers of all ages anything is possible! She is ready to get rid of the old stigmas that surrounded ballet and make dancers healthier and happier!
She has been teaching/training dancers since 2009 and started Veronica K ballet in 2019.
Ballet, Pilates, Contemporary
Ms. Jasmine is our beginner adult ballet instructor. Jasmine also assists Veronica as a video editor and was a former student of Veronica K Ballet.
Jasmine Egan was introduced to movement when she joined the Color Guard team at Long Beach Polytechnic High School. She performed in many half-time shows, and competed in band and color guard competitions Though it was simple, modern based movement, it sparked a flame that would lead her to dance in college at Long Beach City College. It was here she began to train in styles
of Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Tap.
Dani Cox has been a Certified Yoga Instructor since 2016. This has been a very fulfilling part of her career goals since she hadn’t originally intended to teach yoga at all. She graduated from Wright State University with a degree in Acting and has since had the pleasure of traveling the world as a singer. Re-embracing her love of yoga by entering the virtual world is a challenge she gladly accepts! Her experience working with underprivileged youth, the elderly, rehab facilities, as well as independent yoga studios motivates her to connect with students and friends across differing time zones. She is eager to expose other to her style and she can’t wait to learn more in return.
Barre Fitness Instructor
Charlotte is a Certified Barre Fitness instructor who is extremely passionate about health and fitness! She will be teaching Barre Fitness on demand and live starting this summer and is super excited to help you with your fitness and cross-training!
Charlotte is also an Adult Ballet Dancer with the Veronica K Ballet School and loves ballet!
Ballet & Modern Instructor
Christine Howe began her dance training at the age of four at The Dance Institute of The University of Akron. She continued her training at The University of Akron where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2016. She then received her Master of Fine Arts from The University of Iowa in 2019 where she received the Iowa Arts Fellowship and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. She has performed for events such as The University of Akron Dance Festival, American College Dance Association, Iowa Arts Festival, Iowa Dance Festival, Ohio Dance Festival, Emergence Dance Concert, Heinz Poll Summer Dance Festival and The University of Iowa Gala Concert. Her choreographic works have been commissioned for The University of Akron Dance Company, The Cleveland Dance Festival, Take Up Space in Chicago, and Lindenwood University in St Louis. She is currently an Assistant Lecturer at The University of Akron where she is teaching Modern Technique, Theory, Composition, and History courses.
Elaine Dowling is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer working throughout Northeast Ohio. She studied ballet with renowned Cleveland teachers Marguerite Duncan and Nancy Arcury. Elaine was a principal dancer with North Coast Ballet Theatre, and continues to train with Sonja Kraljevic and Kelli Sanford, and virtually with dancers from the Orlando Ballet and Ballet Cymru in Newport, Wales.
Elaine has also studied modern dance with Joan Meggitt, Megan Young, Megan Johnson, and Kelli Sanford. Elaine frequently performs at Case Western Reserve University, where she has been privileged to dance works by the legendary Martha Graham.
Elaine has also performed with Coventry Dance Company in Cleveland; RED, an Akron-based professional modern dance company; and the Cleveland Dance Project.
Elaine’s choreography has been shown in festivals and showcases, and her musical choreography credits include “The Music Man” and “The Secret Garden.”
Elaine has been teaching ballet since 1998, working with dance students of all ages and levels at private studios as well as on the college level. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a B.A. in speech communication, and has worked in both broadcast and print journalism. Elaine is also a certified Pilates mat and machine instructor, and teaches for Body Technic Systems in Solon and One to One Fitness at University Circle in Cleveland.
