About Veronica
After being injured countless times, Veronica has designed a method for ballet training that integrates her knowledge from her education as a Certified Personal Trainer, Bachelor's of Art in Dance, and A.A.S. in Physical Therapy. With this unique approach, Veronica will help you not only understand and educate you about your body but, progress you to great levels! Veronica believes it does not matter what age you start your dance journey but, it is the body mechanics that matter the most! Veronica challenges some of the 'old school' of approaches to dance and believes ballet should NOT be painful.
When dancing with Veronica, you will dance with extreme strength & beauty without putting yourself at risk for chronic injuries or pain. Veronica began her dance career at the age of 7. She has studied ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, tap and musical theater. Originally, Veronica began her training in the Cecchetti method of ballet and completed grade 1 through 3 exams. She later switched to studying classical American Ballet & Balanchine methods.
Veronica received the majority of her dance training from instructors with noteworhty backgrounds including: Tamala Taylor (Former Dance Masters/Cecchetti Ohio President), Kara Stewart (Former Ohio Ballet Company) , Cydney Spohn (Former soloist with The Pennsylvania Ballet), Pauline Howe (Former St. Paul City Ballet), and Tom Smith (Former Martha Graham Dance Company).After graduating from the University of Akron with her Honorary degree in dance, Veronica danced professionally with Carnival Cruise Lines as Playlist Dancer.Additional performance credits include: E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron, Cassidy Theater, Academy of Dance (Tamala Taylor), Ballet Wooster, and Red Satin Jazz Cabaret. Veronica has also competed with Ohio Dance Masters, Nexstar Talent, and Applause Talent competitions. Veronica even competed as a contestant in Ohio Dance Masters Miss Dance of Ohio Competition and was a scholarship winner at Dancing Wheels Company summer intensive. Veronica has also helped trained numerous dancers to prepare for professional auditions, college dance programs, has choreographed for local musical theater productions, Ballet Wooster story ballets, and Ohio dance competitions.
Veronica's life-long dream was always to influence, educate, and teach dancers of all ages anything is possible! She is ready to get rid of the old stigmas that surrounded ballet and make dancers healthier and happier!
She has been teaching/training dancers since 2009 and started Veronica K ballet in 2019.
